Travel Day

Our last underground train in France! Excited to go to Italy!

We made it to the train!

Our view from the train, at the station

Here we go! :)

Nathan was excited about his snacks! :)

It was a really nice ride!

We made it to Milan where we had to switch to another train that would bring us to Verona but the train from France was at least an hour late and no one knew how to help us when we got to Milan. All we knew was that we needed to change stations to catch a regional train to Verona. We boarded the train that we thought would take us to the next station but it turned out that train was going the opposite direction!! After figuring out that we were going the wrong way, we hopped off at one of the stops and waited for a train that would be going to the train station we needed. After this 2 hour detour, we were able to find the correct train station, and board a later train that could take us to Verona. All-in-all we were only 2 hours late to Verona and luckily there was still someone at our lodging to receive us when we arrived at nearly midnight. Everything worked out well. It was quite the adventure and we now feel like professional Italian train-riders! (Says Nathan)

Here we are waiting to catch, what we thought was, the right train to the next station.

Not the right train (but we hadn't learned that yet...)

Off the wrong train and waiting for the correct train!

We figured out the correct platform for the correct train (all on our own :) )

The right train!!! This was a long ride back to where we needed to be.

The correct train station!! It was really a neat looking, old building.

The Polizia was on the train... looking for bad guys we guess (or hunting Jason Bourne) ;)

We made it to Verona! It was dark and nobody was around.

Our room was nice! We were exhausted and just wanted to hit the bed and fall asleep.

That was our journey to Verona! Exploring Verona will come next so stay tuned!
