2nd Day In Venice - Exploring the Islands

Some of the buildings

Waiting for our first water bus in Venice!

Our first stop.

It was Venice's cemetary. It was actually really cool they have a Catholic and Roman Catholic section of the cemetary and a separate section for the Protestant religions. The Catholic areas were really well maintained while the Protestant section was not.

These were the nice ones ... We totally forgot to take a picture of the Protestant section. It was really bad, most of the tomb stones were cracked, broken, with some even coming out of the ground. My explanation really doesn't give it justice.

Our next stop was in Murano where all the glass is blown! :) This was the first furnace we found! :)
The furnace is 1000 degrees Centigrade. Because of the extreme temperature difference of the molten glass and the ambient temperature, the finished pieces are immediately placed into another furnace at 500 degrees Centigrade for 24 hours so the glass can harden. Otherwise the glass explodes when it is handled!

He made a horse! So cool!

This was the 2nd furnace, he was making a rose! :)

This was in the middle of a courtyard! :) It's all glass! Pretty cool! :)

Aunt Lesa, we found powerade! ;) Haha

On the boat going between islands.

I thought it was really cool that the boat had this kind of a steering wheel :)

We made it to Burano!! It was such a beautiful place!!! I'm so glad we stopped here!

This is the place were we ate lunch/dinner! :)

This is so funny, as we were looking through the menu we found the Americana pizza!! I guess we Americans really like our French fries! ;)

I had gnocchi.

Nathan had spaghetti! Yum!

As we were sitting eating we felt some rain drops so we moved to cover and then, bam! It was pouring rain! I thought this picture was perfect because if you can see a man and a little boy watching the rain! :) It was really cute!!

It's so pretty here! Even in the rain!

Yup we were in the storm and on a boat! It was raining really hard! It was really cool and cold and windy

The storm passed for a little and Nathan wanted a picture of the boats.

All of the gondolas where parked because of the weather! We also found a rainbow! :)

Haha so when we got back to the hotel Nathan pointed out how curly my hair was, I didn't really notice till then but it was really curly and frizzy haha ... I don't think I pull off the humid, wind-blown look very well! haha

After this we prepared for the next day and fell fast asleep! :)
