Last Day in Paris

We made it to the Louvre

The Louvre

The famous glass triangle

Waiting in line

Inside

We headed straight for the Mona Lisa ... this was the crazy crowded hallway before we found her.

We found her!!!

It was a feeding frenzy here!!

Isn't she beautiful!!!

A hallway filled with paintings

One of Napoleons courtyards

The original basement/mote of the original Louvre castle

This is what the Louvre used to look like long before Napoleon.

We went to go see the Egyptian antiquities exhibit.

An Egyptian tomb.

Inside of the tomb.

This was to show that the person was well read and a scribe, meaning that they were educated.

Egyptian weapons
Some home decor

Jewelry

Clothes

Nathan loved seeing all of this stuff!

We found a mummy; a real live (dead) mummy

We thought the building itself was really cool!

Part of the original Louvre

The ruins of the original Louvre

We were REALLY tired at this point we had been walking around looking at TONS of stuff for almost 5 hours when we took this picture.

We found a statue of Napoleon ...

Him and many others!!

Napoleon the III's apartments

One of his hallways

He brought nature to him

This was his entertainment area!

His dining room

His bed

A painting of Napoleon

After this we went to see a couple more things, and finished with seeing the Mona Lisa one last time.

Then we made our way to the Eiffel Tower one last time.

While walking up to the Eiffel Tower we saw a film crew filming something.

We were so tired, it felt nice to sit for a while and just enjoy the scenery.

We watched the sunset. It was beautiful!

The lights turned on for us!!

While we were siting there the Eiffel Tower started flashing with a lot of different lights. It was so cool!!

A very nice man took out picture!! I'm so glad he did, it's my favorite!

Nathan: You may be wondering, "what is that yellow orb in the middle of the Eiffel Tower?" Well, that orb is actually a giant tennis ball with the words "Roland Garros 2014". The tennis French Open starts next week and the crews were getting everything ready for the tournaments, including setting up a court on the east side of the tower. Pretty cool.

Afterwards we went back to the Hostel and fell right to sleep so we could catch our morning train to Verona! :)
